Review:
I have to say that being an animal lover I was
thrilled to get the chance to spread the world about this very worthy cause
being supported by some of my favorite romance authors. That said this review focuses exclusively
on one story in the anthology, written by one of my favorite authors, Lexxie
Couper, aptly named Who’s a Good Boy. In this story we get a sweet glimpse of an
insta-love between a sexy politico single father and a sweet and skilled
dog-trainer. Tim never imagined that
when he collided with a stranger on the sidewalk outside his apartment that his
life would change forever, but the sexy woman that knocks him on his ass certainly
does that. Chelsea has too much going on
in her life to pursue a relationship, but the sweet and enticing single father
that has suddenly become part of her life is too hard to resist. A high-speed fall headlong into love for both
of them almost comes to a screeching halt when rumors and outside forces try to
break them apart, but together they can weather the storm, if they trust their
feelings and instincts enough. I really
enjoyed this short novella of love and laughter. Tim and Chelsea were both characters that I could
see myself being friends with and getting to know personally. Tim has a lot of family issues and, though he
loves his little girl Ellie, she certainly makes moving on as a man a little
tricky. But the draw that he pulls
toward Chelsea makes him willing to go way out of his comfort zone and he even
finds himself falling in love with the most unlikely of dogs when he looks for
an “in” with her. Chelsea has a lot of
insecurities when it comes to her relationships, but she has strong convictions
and she is determined to do whatever she has to for her business and her
clients. I enjoyed watching her with Tim
and his daughter, standing up for herself, and even in her vulnerable
moments. The passion between these two
was off the charts hot and I loved watching them succumb to it as they found their
way into one another’s arms. There
really is nothing hotter than a romance between two loving characters caught up
in the moment and trying to find a way to understand love at first sight.
Lexxie Couper never lets me down and I am thrilled to have had the chance to
read her contribution to this sweet and heartwarming project.
