Review:
After a long wait, we have gotten another installment of the Paladins of Darkness series, one of my favorites by Alexis Morgan, but one that sadly has dwindled down to very few new releases recently.  For readers that are not familiar with this series, Darkness Torn Asunder, would make a great introduction to the series, even if it does come later in the overall scheme of things.  The series began for me several years ago when I was drawn to the first story in the bookstore because it had fallen to the floor when I reached for another.  It seemed fate was telling me to buy Devlin’s story too.  For long time fans, I’m sure you can agree with me when I beg for more of these books!  Emmett’s story is one that has some fun twists, but ultimately follows the most tried and true storyline of a paladin.  He has gone his entire life, dealing with mood swings and a temper that has gotten him into serious trouble.  Finally released after spending 10 years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit, Emmett is determined to finally make a life for himself.  The men that offered him a job, are obviously crazy, and maybe dangerous, but he won‘t judge them too harshly.  Just beginning his new life he finds himself face to face with the most beautiful and sensual woman he has ever seen.  Jana captures him heart and soul, and when she gives him an opening into her heart he has no problem taking that chance to steal it.  Jana and Emmett’s chemistry is off the charts and once they give in to their feelings there is no way they can resist one another.  Unfortunately Emmett’s stubbornness and pigheaded views of himself cause a rift that almost costs their lives.  In the end the Paladins save the day and Emmett finds his place among them while also earning the love of a good woman.  I am hoping that the series takes off again soon because there is so much more to learn about this world and these men.  PLEASE Alexis, more Paladins!
