Blurb:
Continuing the sexy, paranormal
Paladins series where Darkness on Fire left off, this original e-novella
features larger-than-life warriors in a secret army that battles evil in the
modern world.
Fifteen
years after Emmett Stone was unjustly imprisoned for a brutal attack, the true
aggressor came forward to tell the truth about that fatal night. Shortly before
Emmett’s release from prison, he’s visited by two men who understand his
strange ability to rapidly heal from anything, and why he’s driven to protect
those around him. And they have a very unusual job offer for him…
When
Emmett cuts his hand at work, his boss insists he go to get stitched up. To
keep up the charade of normalcy, Emmett goes to the free clinic, where he meets
Jana. Instantly drawn to her quiet beauty and caring nature, he vows to protect
her at all costs. But will his fierce protectiveness and hidden secrets cause

Review:
After
a long wait, we have gotten another installment of the Paladins of Darkness
series, one of my favorites by Alexis Morgan, but one that sadly has dwindled down to very few new releases recently.
For readers that are not familiar with this series, Darkness Torn Asunder, would make a great introduction to the
series, even if it does come later in the overall scheme of things. The series began for me several years ago
when I was drawn to the first story in the bookstore because it had fallen to
the floor when I reached for another. It
seemed fate was telling me to buy Devlin’s story too. For long time fans, I’m sure you can agree
with me when I beg for more of these books!
Emmett’s story is one that has some fun twists, but ultimately follows
the most tried and true storyline of a paladin.
He has gone his entire life, dealing with mood swings and a temper that
has gotten him into serious trouble.
Finally released after spending 10 years in prison for a crime he didn’t
commit, Emmett is determined to finally make a life for himself. The men that offered him a job, are obviously
crazy, and maybe dangerous, but he won‘t judge them too harshly. Just beginning his new life he finds himself
face to face with the most beautiful and sensual woman he has ever seen. Jana captures him heart and soul, and when
she gives him an opening into her heart he has no problem taking that chance to steal it. Jana and Emmett’s chemistry
is off the charts and once they give in to their feelings there is no way they
can resist one another. Unfortunately
Emmett’s stubbornness and pigheaded views of himself cause a rift that almost
costs their lives. In the end the
Paladins save the day and Emmett finds his place among them while also earning
the love of a good woman. I am hoping
that the series takes off again soon because there is so much more to learn
about this world and these men. PLEASE
Alexis, more Paladins!
