When a series is as long running and in depth as the Guardians of Eternity series by Alexandra Ivy, one comes to wonder if the stories can continue to be original, by Ivy never fails to keep us guessing. This newest story was no exception and I was laughing and crying equally, but mostly I was amazed by the way the lovers in this story came together in passion and drama. Ryshi is a half-Jinn with a penchant for trouble and finds himself locked in prison when he is offered a way out, in the form of a mission that he can’t turn down. But he will have a minder on his mission, the beautiful and mysterious Sofie, a vampire with an ability to control the minds of those around her. Bu the more Sofie and Ryshi work together to accomplish their goal, the more the heat and fire flairs between them and the more they begin to wonder if the true outcome of their mission will be a lifelong connection they can’t let go of. I loved this story, with both Ryshi and Sofie capturing my heart with their backstory and the way they found a way to accept their nature finally with the help of the other and the love they shared. As always the side-story involving the lovably bumbling Levet was hilarious and continues to make me smile. I hope the series continues and look forward to more. Ivy never lets me down with her world building, characters, or plots, but as always the love between her heroes is the key of her writing and Sate the Darkness truly is a romance that keeps me wanting to come back for more.
