Who doesn’t love a holiday get together? Apparently even the Reapers, the most respected and feared of all Fae and their mates need a little time together to celebrate the season, and what better way than coming together as a family to celebrate their triumphs and the love they all share. It has been a long and treacherous few years for the Reapers and their mates, and with a newer even more deadly enemy on the horizon, this lull in battle seems like the perfect time to celebrate the joy and laughter of the season. Coming together as a Sisterhood all the mates and Erith determine the perfect way to throw the party to end all parties and with the perfect amount of magic and planning they can pull off a miracle. But, not to be outdone, the Reapers have a few tricks of their sleeves to surprise their mates and friends as well, one that will bring tears to the eye and remind them that the love they share is the greatest gift they were ever given. I loved seeing each of the couples and getting a little more info on how they are all doing, especially those that have been mated the longest, but the best of course was seeing Erith and Cael. I love the family that they have managed to build out of those that have felt the greatest betrayals and the connection they all share shows that family doesn’t have to be what you are born with, but can be one that you chose for yourself. I am dying to find out what comes next for these folks, but this truly was the sweetest and most interesting holiday novella of the season for me. Holiday magick seems to be one of Donna’s greatest skills and she just keeps giving us more year after year.
