You Had Me at Wolf (Wolff Brothers #1)

by  Terry Spear

Blurb:
A wolf on a mission cannot be deterred...
The hot, powerful Wolff brothers have moved to the outskirts of Silver Town and opened a ski lodge. They've always wanted to live in a wolf-controlled area, and now they have their chance. They're settling in for a quiet winter, when their lives suddenly become way more exciting than they'd ever planned.
Private Investigator and Gray wolf shifter Josie Grayson is hot on the trail of a dangerous criminal hiding out at the ski lodge when her partner takes ill and must leave her to pursue the mission alone. Blake Wolff steps in--he can't resist the allure of this brilliant and focused she-wolf whose presence awakens a long dormant yearning in his heart.
As pursuit of their quarry heats up, Blake has a mission of his own...to convince Josie that there's more to life than work...and that she's his perfect mate.

Review:
For a series as long running as this one, the most important thing for readers is always the infusion of new characters and the author’s ability to keep the storylines(s) from getting boring.  Luckily for us, Terry Spear has such as ability that we never have to worry that we will get bored.  This new sub-series kicks off for the Wolff family, new residents of the beloved Silver town and pack that own the ski-lodge on the edge of town.  The Wolff’s were welcomed in the last story and now the youngest brother has found his mate in an unexpected visitor to the lodge, a sexy she-wolf that literally grabs him up for her own.  Josie is a private investigator in town on a hunt for a bastard that she suspects already escaped her once in the past and she is determined to do whatever it takes to bring him to justice this time.  When her cover is almost blown, she grabs the first sexy wolf she runs across, not realizing she just found the most helpful guy in the entire town to help in Blake, one of the owners of the lodge and a very connected wolf in the local pack.  Together with his family, and of course the Silver pack in town, Josie and Blake work to catch the errant criminals she is after.  Blake has a bit of an ulterior motive though, as he is totally taken by Josie and has decided that he wants to have her for his mate and will do just about anything to woo her to his side.  In the end, solving the case and keeping her safe might just be enough to convince her to keep him and stay as his mate, as long as they don’t get themselves killed in the process.  I loved this story, with so many twists and turns, and Blake and Josie were perfect together.  Josie is a serious bad-ass she-wolf with the ability to bring down the bad guy and the brains to use every resource at her disposable to catch him.  She was sweet and playful enough for Blake as well as a good blend into the family and you could tell she mixed well into their little group.  Blake is a wolf with a heart of gold, which is evident by the way he offers his help immediately when Josie grabs onto him.  I loved seeing him in action helping on her case, but even more seeing him wooing Josie and playing with his family showed how rounded he is into a perfect mate for Josie.  They balance each other so well and the passion between them is very evident from the beginning, almost hot enough to melt all the snow around them.  I am very much looking forward to the next 3 novels as Blake’s siblings find love and mates and Terry gives us more in this amazing series. Another masterpiece in a series that just continues to entertain and spellbind me.
