Cash is at it again and he finally has to come
to terms with the fact that he is too attracted Jordan to resist any
longer. This series is an interesting
one and so well written that I find I could drive over to the west coast and
actually meet these people without having to look very hard. Marie Harte has a skill with making her
characters both believably down-to-earth and sexily amazing to get to know in
order to make the reader come back again and again. This series revolves around a group of
veterans that have come together in a business and formed friendships as well,
despite the varied and crazy personalities and the shenanigans they get up to is beyond
hilarious at times. Cash has gotten
himself into trouble more than once, his insecurities and fears from youth
making him unable to toe the line even in the military when he faced injustice.
Now he is co-owner of a business and he is faced with new challenges every day,
not the least of which is the temptation of his employee Jordan. Jordan is trying hard to make it in this new
civilian world after the disillusionment she faced when she got out of the
military. She’s also trying to deal with
her annoying little brother and the family that she has never felt she fit
into, so she has no time to deal with the sexy and tempting Cash. When they start working together on personal
projects it becomes harder and harder to resist that heat, and soon there is
just no way they can keep their hands off one another. But secrets are never
able to be kept forever and those secrets could potentially pull them apart
before they ever have a chance to be together unless they can admit their attraction
might be more than just an affair. I
loved Cash, he was just so human and sweet, with all he trauma in his past
tearing him up inside even as he tried to show his strength and intensity to
those around him. Once he finally
allowed himself to shows some vulnerability to Jordan, he found that he was
able to overcome the fears of a lifetime with her help and faith in him. I loved getting to know him and seeing him
find himself fully and come to terms with his past and forge a future with the
woman he loved. Jordan has her own
issues with her past and they have certainly shaped her in ways that make embracing
a relationship with a man like Cash iffy, not to mention her own crappy family
problems to handle. She was an
interesting woman for sure, with her determination to keep her brother on the
straight and narrow, her need to help Cash through his problems and her
willingness to do whatever it takes to make sure that she has a chance with the
man she loves. Once they both decided
that there was no denying their pull, their passion was enough to burn those
around them and I loved seeing them find their way through the initial heat to
the emotional connection that was no much more long-lasting and important. I am dying to find out what comes next for this
family and their friends as well, because Marie Harte has never let me down and
I don’t see it happening with this amazing series either.
