This series has come full circle, one of my
favorite things about long standing series, and we are finally getting to read
the story of Josh Blackthorne, all grown up and falling in love. This series began with the story of his
father, Nick, coming home to the woman he lost over a decade earlier and
meeting the son he never knew he had fathered, Josh. Now Josh is all grown up and following in his
father’s musical footsteps to the top of the charts. Thankfully he remains mostly a down to earth
and sweet guy, with only a few moments here and there of true arrogance and
ego. Seeing him fall under the spell of
true and lasting love was amazing and longtime fans like myself will be
thrilled to see him truly find happiness.
The woman he falls for, Caitlin, is no shy and innocent young woman,
instead she is gritty and has a determination that rams against Josh’s more
than once, making sparks fly even as she resists them out of a sense of guilt
and fear. Caitlin has dealt with a lot
in recent years and she is not willing to open herself up to speculation and
the danger of falling in love with a man like Josh, especially since the last
man she loved was taken from her so suddenly.
Josh is sweet and even though he is more than attracted to Caitlin, he
is determined to be a friend to her and show her that he is the type of man
that will always be there for her. When
they finally give in to their desires there is not a single person that doesn’t
see the heat and sparks constantly between them, but it’s the warm and obviously
deep love that they share that will allow them to weather the drama and
tragedies of life. I cried a lot in this
story, but getting to see these two first become friends, and ultimately fall
in love, made every tear more than worth it, and of course there no way I could
skim the passion that flares constantly between them. I have loved every bit of this series and am
so thrilled that Josh has finally found love, even though it means the end of
the series. Luckily there’s always
another great Lexxie Couper story coming our way, but I can see myself
returning to this amazing series to reread the stories of tragedy, redemption,
lose and love that have made this series one for the ages. You’ve once again struck gold Lexxie!
